Indianapolis, IN -- Laura Sidla of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and Boston, Massachusetts recently received the prestigious honor of the National Association of Charitable Gift Planners (CGP) Rising Star Award.

The Rising Star Award is given to a newcomer in the field of charitable gift planning with outstanding talent and potential. The work of charitable gift planning is ever changing and expanding; this award encourages recipients to consider a lifelong pursuit of the field and continue active membership in their local councils and national association.

Laura is the Senior Director of Gift Planning at Partners In Health (PIH) where her work in gift planning helps the organization provide high quality health care, influence global policy, and replicate best practices globally.

Laura studied marketing communications while fundraising for various large, small, local, and international nonprofits. She is a Certified Fundraising Executive, Chartered Advisor in Philanthropy, Fellow in Charitable Estate Planning, and wealth reclamation practitioner.

In 2016, Laura received the American Council on Gift Annuities’ Terry Simmons Scholarship and started PIH’s annuity program. She previously received the Youth in Philanthropy award from the Association of Fundraising Professionals Rhode Island chapter in 2006.

Throughout her 10 years at PIH, Laura established gift acceptance policies, database infrastructure, and marketing communication efforts. Her work accompanying supporters extends to PIH’s global sites, including Haiti, Rwanda, Malawi, Liberia, and Sierra Leone. The legacy program also grew under her leadership.

Laura is grateful for the opportunity to accompany individuals through the philanthropic planning process to help ease pain, cure illness, and save lives for generations to come.
